Supporting the AWARE Foundation's effort in marine conservation

From Lake Garda to the Oceans: Protecting Our Underwater World
Hello everyone, my name is Christian and I am a PADI Divemaster based in the province of Verona, Italy.
Those who know me know that water is my element. Diving regularly, I have the privilege of exploring underwater wonders, but I also see firsthand just how fragile these environments are. This deep awareness is what drove me to become a PADI/DAN Ocean Literacy Instructor.
What does this mean? The Ocean Literacy program is a global educational initiative, recognized by UNESCO and developed within the framework of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Its goal is to help people understand the ocean's essential influence on our lives and the impact our daily actions have on the ocean. As an instructor, my mission is to transform this awareness into action, creating true "Ocean Citizens" who actively advocate for our blue planet.
My personal mission starts right here, in the waters of Lake Garda—a jewel I love and want to protect—but it extends to all the oceans of the world. Water connects us all: the problems plaguing our lake, such as pollution and biodiversity loss, are the same ones suffocating seas across the entire planet.
I decided to launch this fundraiser for the PADI AWARE Foundation because I believe we can no longer stand by and watch. We must act to remove marine debris, protect at-risk habitats, and give a voice to those who have none: from the species in our lake to the sharks in our oceans.
Why am I asking for your help? Because even a small contribution can make the difference between an environment that dies and one that thrives. Your donation will support concrete clean-up, protection, and conservation efforts.
Let’s not abandon those who will never have the chance to defend themselves. Help me protect the "blue" that keeps our planet alive.
Donate now for an Ocean of love.
This project is carried out in collaboration with No Deco Diving School - PADI Five Star Dive Resort - PADI Eco Center. Note: All donations will go to PADI AWARE Foundation and donations are 100% tax-deductible.

PADI Women's Dive Day 2026
Tuesday 21st Jul
Thank you for visiting my PADI AWARE Foundation fundraising page!
On July 18th, we celebrated the PADI Women's Dive Day 2026 at Castelletto di Brenzone (Lake Garda). As an active staff member of the No Deco Diving School ASD—a proud PADI Eco Center—I had the honor of being the main organizer of this global event, backed by the incredible support of our staff and alongside our friends at Il Faro Azzurro Scuola Subacquea. We united to celebrate female inclusion in diving and, most importantly, to take direct action for our local ecosystem.
Backed by the Patronage of the Municipality of Brenzone sul Garda and the official presence of CRESSI, our amazing female divers led the charge in a comprehensive PADI Dive Against Debris survey.
Fortunately, we didn't find an overwhelming amount of small litter, proving that the local diving community actively protects these waters. However, the debris we did remove and log into the PADI AWARE Action Portal highlights a much bigger issue:
1 massive truck tire (safely recovered using a lift bag)
Hotel sunbeds (swept into the lake by recent, violent storms)
Fishing lines and hooks
Various glass and plastic bottles, iron, and plywood
Our findings send a clear message. The extreme weather events that washed those sunbeds into the lake are a direct consequence of climate change, which is hitting our local communities and fragile aquatic ecosystems hard. By promoting the PADI/DAN Ocean Literacy program in alignment with the UN Ocean Decade, we want to raise awareness that climate change and water pollution are deeply connected. Extracting heavy, degrading materials from the lakebed prevents toxic pollutants and microplastics from destroying local biodiversity.
Climate change is a tangible reality, and we must all do our part.
Why donate? Your contribution to the PADI AWARE Foundation directly supports local conservation efforts, cleanups, and global initiatives to protect our waters. Every single donation helps us turn more divers into environmental sentinels through Citizen Science.
Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can make a difference for our planet!
