Our Impact

Through the Mission Hub Community Grant programme, PADI AWARE has provided over $5.5 Million USD in funding for grants that support ocean conservation in local communities.

We are advancing Citizen Science through our Dive Against Debris, Coral Bleaching surveys that provide much needed data to governments to help them inform policy for waste management, mitigation efforts for climate change and more.

Released over 35,000 entangled animals, helped secure important protection measures for over 100 species of sharks and rays.
Created over 350,000 local initiaitives, adopted 2500 and growing dive sites to build a critical network for conservation actions.

Our Programs

Our mission to ‘Drive local action for global ocean conservation’ is carried out through citizen science, public policy, and community grants.

We have set ambitious ocean conservation targets through a shared Blueprint for Ocean Action that provides the framework to tackle key threats to the ocean and create ocean change in our dive communities around the world.

Marine Debris

Through Dive Against Debris®, divers worldwide are removing marine debris and collecting critical data to drive global policy change and stop plastic pollution at its source.

Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)

Through Adopt the Blue™, PADI’s flagship conservation program, divers are helping grow marine protected areas by collecting vital data, supporting local conservation efforts, and protecting critical dive sites for future generations.

Vulnerable Marine Species

Through the flagship Global Shark & Ray Census, responsible encounters, and advocacy, divers are helping protect vulnerable marine life and drive stronger protections for the species that need it most.

Marine Habitat Restoration

Divers are helping restore coral reefs, seagrasses, and other vital ocean habitats by supporting local projects, taking part in restoration activities and bringing damaged ecosystems back to life.
